These terms govern your use of Catechesi. By using the app, you agree to them.
Catechesi is a Catholic formation app providing curated, human-written, cited educational content across topics in Catholic theology, history, and practice. The core learning content is free to use, with no account required.
Catechesi offers optional, auto-renewing annual subscriptions ("Premium" and "Family Premium") that remove the daily limit on how many questions you can answer. Subscriptions never unlock additional content, affect your skill rating, or grant any advantage over other users — every question in Catechesi is available to every user for free.
Creating an account is optional and only needed to purchase a subscription or add friends. You're responsible for your account and anything that happens through it. You can delete your account at any time from within the app.
Use Catechesi for its intended purpose. Don't attempt to disrupt the app or backend services, circumvent subscription or content restrictions, or misuse features like question reporting (for example, submitting false or abusive reports).
Adding a friend is between you and someone you've actually shared a code with — there's no public directory or global leaderboard. Choose a display name that doesn't impersonate another person or include contact information you don't want shared with people you add. You can remove a friend at any time from the Friends tab; doing so ends the shared streak for both of you.
Catechesi's question bank is human-written and cited to primary sources (the Catechism of the Catholic Church, Sacred Scripture, Church Councils, and other approved magisterial or catechetical sources). It is maintained as a curated, publicly auditable database. While every effort is made toward theological accuracy, Catechesi is a study and practice tool, not a substitute for formal catechesis, spiritual direction, or the teaching authority of the Church. If you believe a question contains an error, please use the in-app reporting feature.
Catechesi is provided "as is." We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.
